Fix: “Could not execute entrypoint stage 'main'” (server)
If your Prominence II server fails to start with an “entrypoint stage 'main'” error, it’s often because the server is running client-only mods or was installed using the client modpack instead of the server pack.
Recommended fix
- Back up your server folder (world + configs) before changing anything.
- Install the official server files / server pack for the modpack version you’re running.
- Make sure you’re on the right loader for the pack (Prominence II: Hasturian Era typically runs on Fabric).
- If you copied the client pack into the server, remove client-only mods and try again.
Why this happens
Many modpacks include client-side mods for performance, graphics, UI, or quality-of-life. Those can crash a dedicated server during initialization. Server packs usually remove or adjust these.
If you’re hosting on a provider, this error also happens when the host’s “one click install” uses the wrong server files for a newly updated version.
Good to know
- Keep your client and server on the same modpack version (mismatches can look like “outdated version” or “illegal reupload”).
- Don’t “update a few mods manually” on the server; use the official pack update path.
- Check your server log for the exact mod that fails to load — that’s usually the one that’s client-only or incompatible.
