Fix: Exit Code 1 (Prominence II crash)

“Exit Code 1” is a generic launcher message that usually means the game crashed during startup. The fastest way to fix it is to remove variables (shaders, extra mods), confirm memory settings, and re-install from the official modpack page.

Fast checklist (5–10 min)

  1. Restart your launcher (CurseForge/Prism/etc.) and try again.
  2. Make sure you installed from the official listing: Prominence II: Hasturian Era on CurseForge.
  3. Temporarily disable shaders and resource packs (they can crash on load).
  4. Remove any extra mods you added on top of the pack (test with a clean profile).
  5. Allocate 8–10 GB of RAM (then test). If you already set very high RAM (like 16–24 GB), try lowering it.
  6. Update your GPU drivers and reboot.

Common causes

  • Shader pipeline issues (Iris/shaderpacks) — try launching without shaders first.
  • Not enough memory allocated (or too much, causing long GC pauses).
  • Corrupted config files after an update.
  • Mixing loader types (don’t add Forge-only mods to a Fabric pack).

Get help faster (logs)

If it still crashes, the next step is checking logs. Look in your instance folder for logs/latest.log and crash-reports/. If you share logs publicly, remove any personal info.

Join a server (test)

Once the game launches, you can confirm everything works by joining a server:
