Fix: “Outdated version” / “illegal reupload”
If you can’t join a Prominence II server and see version mismatch errors (including “illegal reupload”), the fix is usually to reinstall the pack from the official source and ensure your instance matches the server.
Quick fix checklist
- Install/update the modpack from the official CurseForge listing.
- Make sure your instance actually updated (restart the launcher after updates).
- If you imported the pack from a zip/profile code, delete that instance and install fresh from CurseForge.
- Confirm the server is on the same pack version. Many servers pin a specific version for stability.
- If it still fails, join the server Discord and ask what pack version is required.
Common cause: profile codes / “imported” packs
If you installed Prominence II from a random zip, launcher export, or profile code, you can end up on a mismatched build (or a reupload). Installing fresh from the modpack’s CurseForge page is the most reliable fix.
If you need the exact version a server requires, ask in that server’s Discord. For pack-wide announcements and support, the Prominence community Discord is often the quickest place to check.
